Alan Reeves

Alan Reeves

Alan is a 20 year veteran of the IT world. He comes from a service industry background, having run food and beverage operations for an upscale coastal country club at the age of 23. In 1997, he took a position with Packard Bell/NEC computer corporation as a technical representative, working with stores such as Circuit City, CompUSA, and Computer City to assist sales reps understand the products and technology better. He started MouseCalls, his first IT business, in February of 1998 and grew it organically to a more than half-million dollar, single location break-fix business with no clients on service agreements and with no retail hardware sales. He was a founding partner in SunRiver IT Partners, which is a B2B managed service provider based in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2015, Alan was one of 10 IT business owners around the country invited to contribute to and participate in a prototype cybersecurity services business model think tank. In 2017, Alan was asked by a telecommunications company to build out a white-labeled IT solution that its nationwide partners could resell, thus the birth of Blank-IT. He is on the board of the Nashville State Community College Technology Council and is active in many IT peer groups.

Cheryl Philamalee

Cheryl Philamalee

A native of the west coast, Cheryl is from a service and management background. Having worked in both accounting and HR for the state of Washington, Cheryl also tended bar and modeled during college. She worked with disabled children, as well as managed the offices of a large architectural firm and a resort club. Her journey took her from Seattle to San Diego to Idaho, and finally to Nashville, where in August 2012 she was hired at MouseCalls. Cheryl understood the service aspect of the IT business model, and she redefined her position within the company, advancing to Director of Operations in 2015. Cheryl assisted in implementing service plans that increased sales 50% in one year, and drove the process for making sure clients were taken care of. Cheryl compares her role to that of an air traffic controller…making sure everything is accounted for and get resolved properly and with best practices.

Early Beginnings

Our experience was very good especially since we are not that familiar with computers. Our computer was picked up when it was supposed to be and we were called to know what the problem was and what it would cost for repairs. It was repaired and returned when they said it would be. As far as I know it is ok. I still have problems with email (outlook express), but I think it is a Microsoft problem. I have been in contact with them, but it still is not right. I think MouseCalls did their job very well.


February 16, 1998

First MouseCalls appointment. Alan Reeves had put up flyers in three grocery stores in the Bellevue area of Nashville, TN. The first client was Classics International, a dealer in Art Deco furnishings.

May 2000

MouseCalls featured in “Entrepreneurs to Watch” in Green Hills News. MouseCalls gains many clients after this exposure.

September 2003

The first technician hired

June 1, 2004

First storefront & office space open to public.

Autumn 2004

MouseCalls is selected as business project by Owen School of Business at Vanderbilt University. The Owen class unwittingly comes up with a growth plan that is a primitive version of today’s IT managed services model that is best practice in all commercial IT today.

December 2006

The company moved to a much larger facility, where we stayed for almost ten years.

January 2008

MouseCalls deploys first full managed services offering to both residential and commercial clients.

May 2, 2010

Catastrophic flood hits Nashville. Not one MouseCalls client lost data. However, MouseCalls worked with dozens of businesses that lost everything, and most of those businesses went under due to the data loss.


MouseCalls works to spin off a sister company to work with B2B commercial clients in a best practices way.


SunRiver IT is launched and MouseCalls moves all business clients to that management platform.

February 2016

MouseCalls launches overhauled service plans that are extraordinarily popular and affordable. 90%+ of clients who are offered a plan sign up.

July 2016

MouseCalls’ location suffers catastrophic lightning strike and burst pipe within 10 days. We are forced to vacate our home of 10 years and relocate to Franklin, Tennessee.

December 2017

Alan Reeves leaves SunRiver IT to focus on new opportunities, and refocus on MouseCalls and its mission.
